WHERE ART LIVES
Cathedral City's charm lies in its community. As a haven for the arts and artists for more than 100 years, the laid-back vibe and eclectic style of this city sets it apart. The streets are a canvas showcasing thought-provoking murals and sculptures, and the Perez Road Art & Design District’s many galleries, studios and shops are a treasure trove of artistic expression and quality design.
Named for the natural rock formations of Cathedral Canyon to the south of the city, Cathedral City’s panoramic views and natural beauty make it a great destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Like all Coachella Valley communities the golf fairways, hiking trails and tennis courts are plentiful; and with construction of the Coachella Valley Link pathway, the city is making alternative transportation and recreation more accessible.
Cathedral City’s Downtown Arts & Entertainment District is where this community comes together. Residents and visitors enjoy performances at the historic Mary Pickford Theater and CVRep Theater, the whimsical magic of the Fountain of Life, the serene surroundings of Town Square Park and Festival Lawn, and the lively atmosphere of the Cathedral City Community Amphitheater, home to many of the city's annual festivals and events.
This growing city also offers remarkably affordable real estate compared to its more popular neighbors. Still relatively unknown to tourists, the average sale price for a single-family home is $510,000, making it an excellent investment opportunity. Whether you're looking for a contemporary, mid-century modern, or Spanish Colonial home, or a condo in a gated community, Cathedral City has a diverse range of housing options to suit every taste and budget.
A welcoming community with a hometown feel, Cathedral City or "Cat City" to the locals, is a great discovery and even better place to live.
